Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a research technician position in the Javadzadeh Lab starting May/June 2024 (start date is flexible).
Position Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be working at the intersection of experimental and computational neuroscience. We record, analyze, and model neural population activity in the visual cortex of mice, to understand the mechanisms underlying visual perception. Successful candidates could be involved in in vivo recording and manipulation of neural activity, building custom experimental rigs, or analysis and modeling of neural population activity. Their exact roles and duties will be tailored based on the individual's background, interest, and goals for subsequent career stages.

Position Requirements

Applicants are expected to have a bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Additionally, scientific programming skills (Python or MATLAB) are required. Highly desirable qualifications include a quantitative background and previous experience in neuroscience or analyzing/modeling of neural data.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
