This opportunity is in the Insurance Underwriting Department.

As a leading insurer in the U.S., we have deep expertise in the field. We never take a one-size-fits-all approach to underwriting, but rather tailor solutions to individual needs. Coverages include large deductible workers' compensation, commercial auto, general liability and umbrella. We offer bundled or unbundled claims handling and minimum retention levels of $250,000 for workers' compensation, $100,000 for general liability and $100,000 for auto liability.

Role Description:

In the role of Regional Underwriting Manager you will be part of Large Casualty Underwriting Team. Your contribution to the growth of the primary large account segment will be felt throughout Safety National.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Regional Underwriting Manager will include the underwriting and servicing of Large Casualty accounts for an assigned territory. Underwriting accountability includes new business production, renewal retention, account servicing and broker/insured relationships that lead to underwriting profitability and revenue growth within the assigned underwriting territory. In addition, you may be assigned to participate on various projects.

The ideal candidate is someone with strong underwriting, negotiation and presentation skills that is willing to work with clients to develop a program structure that is beneficial to both Safety National and the Insured. Experience with loss sensitive programs is required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred

Qualifications:

  • Large deductible/national account casualty underwriting and sales experience; prefer 8 -10 years. CPCU designation a plus
  • A record of consistently high performance and achievement over career span is desired
  • A demonstrated track record of success in a field office underwriting production environment
  • Organizational skills, communication, coaching and mentoring skills are highly desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Business acumen, including the ability to win using data, and interpersonal skills are critical

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
