Job Summary

The Manager, Corporate Planning & Strategy will report directly to Chief Corporate Planning Officer (Senior Vice President) to support the management of Americas Region's important meetings, projects, and the communication & collaboration between Tokyo headquarters and the Americas Region. The manager will have great opportunities to get exposure to the high-level corporate strategies, and at the same time have hands-on practices on various financial and accounting activities that associate with the achievements of the Americas Region's goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Support the communication and collaboration between Tokyo headquarters and the Americas Region, serve as a sub-liaison between HQ and Americas Region.

  • Responsible for monthly report development, Quarterly Board of Director Committee material development, and support of various ad-hoc requests/ deliverables.

  • Support the management of Americas Region Executive Committee (which is the official corporate committee that consist of Vice Presidents from various functions), including managing meeting documents, monthly reports, etc.

  • Support the annual Americas Region Business Plan development process and latest forecasting process by partnering with the appropriate department and functional leaders. Prepare and participate in the presentation of the budget / latest estimates to leadership, track and support the implementation of meeting action items.

  • Support Corporate Planning and Strategy project management.

  • Manage the Corporate Planning and Strategy repository, the key event and financial deliverables calendar to ensure due dates are adhered to.

  • Improve, digitalize workflow to improve work efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of financial experience with a minimum of 2 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA /or CMA preferred with demonstrated knowledge of Finance and project management.

  • Fluent in Japanese, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent written and presentation skills coupled with strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities across different functional areas and cultures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment often with aggressive deadlines and quick turnarounds.

  • Ability to work with various functions and establish collaborative relationship with internal stakeholders to work quickly and seamlessly.

  • Use inductive and deductive reasoning to analyze, synthesize, compare, and interpret information.

  • Advanced computer skills with a high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and systems such as TM1, SAP, & Planful.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and disparate teams across functions to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
