CLA is looking to hire a Tax Manager/Director to join our fast-growing Exempt Tax Practice (Nonprofit, Health Care and Higher Ed) team in the Northeast region.

How you'll create opportunities in this Tax Manager/Director role:

  • Serve tax exempt clients in the Healthcare, Higher Ed, and Nonprofit industries in a high impact manner, demonstrating command of a major area of specialization.
  • Demonstrate deep technical skills and have the above related industry knowledge.
  • Excel at engagement management and operational excellence.
  • Assist clients with meeting their tax and day to day compliance needs.
  • Research and draft technical tax memoranda on various tax issues for clients.
  • Review and sign a variety of exempt organization returns and serve as a subject matter expert when appropriate.
  • Develop and mentor staff and oversee client engagement teams.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with public accounting and/or professional services firm specializing in tax exempt organizations, or a tax role in higher education, healthcare or private foundation.
  • CPA required (JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)

The wage range for this position in New York is: $122,000 - $185,000

Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
