Job Description

The Associate Manager, Commercial Strategy + Employee Engagement is part of a small but instrumental team that is responsible for keeping the full commercial (advertising) team informed, inspired, and learning every day. This is a core cross functional role that works with every part of the organization, and is an ideal for a candidate who wants to learn about the business of media from the ground up.

Reporting directly to the VP, Commercial Strategy + Engagement, this role has three areas of focus:

STRATEGY + BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Primary goal is to identify trends and opportunities within the global marketplace, through close analysis of industry reporting. Key responsibilities

include:

  • Daily monitoring of trades, working with Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy on development of weekly business intelligence reporting

  • Creating executive summaries of secondary reports relevant to the business

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT (L&D)

Primary goal is to build the skill set of the Conde Nast Commercial Team through multi-faceted always-on learning programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support execution of all L&D activities, inclusive of all logistics and keeping of master calendar of event

  • Managing internal library of L&D materials, including ensuring past trainings are kept up to date and accurate

  • Working with Director of Learning & Development on Run of Show development, including working directly with Subject Matter Experts and external vendors

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

Primary goal is to inspire the Conde Nast Commercial Team community, through fun and thoughtful moments of recognition. Key responsibilities include

  • Working directly with VP on developing Employee Engagement activities, inclusive of pop-up lunches, philanthropic activities, and other group events

  • Managing communications, calendar, budgets, and execution for events, including working with internal and external vendors

  • Implementing new work flow around weekly full-team meetings, including compiling agenda items and materials

Who You Are (Desired Skills and Qualifications)

  • 1-2 years relevant professional experience; marketing, media operations, creative strategy, advertising, sales, account/project management preferred

  • Passionate about understanding and discussing the wider media industry

  • A stickler for numbers, with an understanding of the stories behind the data

  • Driven to create cross-team activities, that provide moments of connection and education

  • Self-driven and a self starter with ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a deadline-oriented environment

  • All about the details, every element of a project must be considered

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
