Manager Corporate Income Tax

Position Summary

The Manager Corporate Income Tax manages various U.S. tax compliance, accounting, research and planning functions. The Manager leads the day-to-day operations of these tax functions to meet the Company's related accounting and compliance obligations and to minimize liabilities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and/or reconciliation of income tax provisions and related balance sheet accounts for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting purposes
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and/or reconciliation of the consolidated federal (including international information reports) and state/local income tax returns and related work papers, including all extension and quarterly payments
  • Analyze provision to return differences
  • Perform tax research and planning
  • Prepare and review tax accruals, budgets and forecasts
  • Review analysis and reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Recommend and implement procedural improvements and automation of processes
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities with exceptional communication skills and commitment to positive team dynamics
  • Document tax policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and manage taxing authority and internal/external financial audits
  • Keep informed of relevant tax regulatory developments
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least five (5)years of previous related work experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of corporate income tax experience, including public accounting experience
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including spreadsheet expertise
  • Advanced understanding of ASC 740, Subchapter C, and international tax issues
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment
  • Detail oriented, with ability to provide clear and concise summation
  • Available for overnight travel (up to 10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master's degree in tax or finance
  • Experience in public accounting
  • Corporate tax, accounting or finance experience in Latin America markets
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and database applications
  • Fluent in English

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $100,000 and $145,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
