Job Description: Global FP&A Director

Location: Parsippany, NJ

By way of first-class budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, diligent analyses, and strategic modeling, the HQ Financial Planning & Analysis team plays a key role in partnering across Zoetis and informing executive leadership inclusive of the CEO and CFO of actual and projected performance. The HQ FP&A Director is responsible for providing financial support for the HQ FP&A monthly and quarterly deliverables for the actual reporting and earnings process. The position will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly Revenue deliverables, including key products, species, markets and therapeutic areas. The position will be responsible for preparation of financial templates, reporting packages and ad-hoc analysis related to the actual reporting and earnings process, including revenue, gross margin and operating expenses. In addition, the position will assist with budgeting and forecasting for free cash flow. The position will report to the VP of Global FP&A .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with members of the organizational FP&A, Investor Relations, Controllers and Communications teams on the actual reporting and earnings process.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Revenue deliverables (key products, species, market and therapeutic area) including preparing qualitative variance analysis.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication across the business, to be the "eyes and ears" across the organization to provide updates on financial performance inclusive of risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate across the global FP&A team to ensure alignment and communication takes into account actual performance against budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain and improve existing models and metrics to enhance insight, efficiency and decision-making.
  • Assist in implementing a sound process to guarantee the quality, accuracy and timeliness of actuals and monthly results and other financials submissions via partnering with US and International Commercial and the Global teams.
  • Work with Controllers as well as US and International segments, and other global teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Spearhead business partnering activities including KPIs and Metrics reporting.
  • Assist in serving as a financial advisor to global leadership on key commercial decisions and business strategies. Monitor, track and report business performance with proactive identification of issues, opportunities and challenges. Ensure that the business utilizes its resources in the most efficient manner.
  • Develop presentations and present to CFO/CEO.
  • Active participant in monthly business reviews
  • Provide financial insight and strategic thinking.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis where needed.
  • Collaborate with the Global FP&A Budget/Forecast Lead and assist in the budgeting/forecasting process as needed.
  • As a steward of global data, assist in special projects and initiatives as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required - concentration in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • CPA and/ or MBA strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10-12 years' experience in a progressive FP&A role with a focus on financial planning and analysis and business partnering

SKILLS:

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and provide advice on the financial impacts of business decisions.
  • Broad business knowledge spanning Commercial, Manufacturing, IT, HR, and specialized finance functions (Tax, Treasury, Accounting, etc.)
  • Strong track record in working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in being able to partner, lead and influence others without having a direct reporting relationship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management.
  • High-energy, self-starter who can function autonomously and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Highest standards of accuracy, precision, and highly organized
  • Demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Passion for the future of FP&A and how to leverage technology (e.g., AI) to improve accuracy and workflow
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems required. Proficiency in Hyperion-based financial systems is desired (e.g., Essbase, HFM) but not required.
  • Experience in Anaplan and SAP (ECC and S4/Hana) a plus
