Position Description
Are you a blogger with a passion for the latest trends in consumer electronics? Are you first in line when a new product or gadget is released?
If so, Consumers Union, the nation’s premier testing organization and publisher of Consumer Reports, is looking for you! As an independent multimedia publisher with one of the largest subscriber bases in the world, we publish news, product reviews, and buying advice on a host of consumer electronics products and services for print, online, and broadcast media.
We are currently seeking a skilled writer to create and adapt consumer electronics content for the Web, include writing and editing frequent and timely blog posts on Consumer Reports Online.
The ideal candidate will live and breathe consumer electronics and have a knack for translating technical information and industry jargon into compelling articles for a mainstream consumer audience. Must have at least 2 years experience covering consumer technology in an online setting. The ability to write and edit content in a fast-paced environment is essential. Experience in posting content online and in working with video is a definite plus, as is experience working with social networking sites and traditional broadcast media outlets.
This is a full-time position at our Testing Center in Yonkers, New York, approximately a half hour from midtown Manhattan by subway. Free shuttle service is offered from the subway (#1 train) and local Metro-North Railroad stations. Our location is also easily accessible by car from many parts of the tri-state area.
