Position Description

City Harvest is seeking an experienced Director of Corporate Sponsorships - New Business Development responsible for the development of a growth strategy for our corporate partnerships in support of City Harvest’s mission of ending hunger in NYC. The Director of Corporate Sponsorships - New Business Development will serve as the primary contact with Feeding America on joint marketing strategies in New York City. Success in this role is measured by delivering impressive results through strategic alliances.
 
The Director of Corporate Sponsorships - New Business Development reports directly to the Vice President of External Relations and will be based in Midtown.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies to significantly expand our current and develop new corporate partnerships that will result in significant revenue growth and long term commitment to City Harvest’s mission.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to build on City Harvest’s strong identification with New York City’s restaurant and food community, including working with the City Harvest Food Council leadership to deepen relationships and increase participation.
  • In partnership with External Relations’ senior staff, develop and integrate an annual calendar of sponsorship, philanthropic and volunteer opportunities to support corporate sponsor recognition and benefits.
  • Partner with Director of Marketing in identifying opportunities to drive visibility and revenue generation.
  • Steward City Harvest’s brand visibility and consistency with the Director of Marketing.
  • Provide regular, timely and accurate progress reports to Vice President of External Relations.
  • Develop metrics and budgets for new programs or initiatives in partnership with Finance Department.
 
Requirements
  • BA College degree.
  •  8-12 years of prior experience in business development focused on corporate sponsorships and marketing with a career of increasing responsibilities, including strategy development and implementation.
  • A track record of creating corporate sponsorspis is essential.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills to appeal to diverse constituencies of corporations, foundations, individual donors and restaurant chefs.
  • Excellent analytical ability, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Proven success in networking and relationship management with outstanding financial results.
  • Strong supervisory management experience with a focus on deliverables, accountability and staff development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in order to work effectively with key stakeholders with varied interests and needs.
  • Extensive experience in the cultivation of prospects in major metropolitan area, preferably New York City.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a balance between opportunity, urgency and planning.
  • Strong ability to absorb new information quickly and accurately, to understand its strategic and execution implications, and integrate that knowledge into new business.
  • Strong computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite.
