Position Description

SRC is seeking a manager for guidance and standards to provide leadership and vision for programs in our chemical, biological and environmental business segment. This is a unique opportunity to serve in a leadership role in a dynamic and successful organization, continuing to build on SRC’s reputation as an important contributor in our nation’s efforts to respond to emergencies and to protect our people and environment. SRC’s internationally recognized work has helped our sponsors assess the potential human health and ecological risks of chemical, biological and radiological exposures.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for development and management of programs supporting development of guidance and standards for USEPA, ATSDR, DoD and related government agencies
* Will contribute technical expertise in the areas of chemical and biological hazards
* Oversee day-to-day operations of programs and staff
* Contribute to developing center budget and tracking financial performance and forecasting
* Contribute to developing and implementing strategic plans for marketing and business development

Position Requirements

* Scientific degree required (master’s degree or doctorate preferred)
* 10-15 years of experience in the chemical hazard assessment field
* Experience in managing large groups of technical staff
* Experience in managing scientific contracts and programs
* Prior involvement in programs and activities in USEPA, CDC, DoD and/or homeland security is preferred
* Successful applicants must also possess excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills, and have the desire to work in a progressive environment where their creativity will be applied to real-world challenge problems
* Must have excellent organizational and reporting skills, as well as great attention to detail
* Proven technical leadership and mentoring skills
