MDRC is seeking social scientists to work on research projects that evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of programs designed to help low-income individuals and families across our five policy areas: , , , , and . We are currently recruiting for multiple positions and will tailor positions to candidates’ specific content interests and areas of expertise.

Most of our projects involve large samples, multiple sites nationwide, and long-term follow-up for impact, implementation, and cost-benefit analyses. MDRC is seeking individuals who are interested in bringing their skills in social science research to our nationally recognized and highly respected public policy research organization.

MDRC is seeking candidates who are interested in blending strong qualitative and quantitative research skills; contributing to data collection, analysis, and management of projects, and participating in the crafting of research papers and reports.

Qualifications:

• M.A. degree or above in sociology, education, economics, psychology, child development, or another social science or in public policy
• Demonstrated research experience
• Knowledge of research design and qualitative and quantitative methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as analytical ability
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with many levels of diverse staff
